The portrayal of Senator Akpabio’s reaction by certain detractors and critics has been marred by misrepresentation and skewed narratives aimed at undermining his reputation and political standing.
Herbert Wigwe’s Funeral: Sim Fubura’s Insult
It is regrettably clear that a faction of individuals and some journalists from Akwa Ibom extract who have no respect for their son have resorted to distorting facts and fabricating stories to discredit the Senate President, without considering a balanced evaluation of the situation.
Some of the journalists who just jump into the press to print out misleading headlines believe joining Sim Fubara will make Nigerians hate Senator Godswill Akpabio. I have never seen or heard that senate Presidents from the Northern part of Nigeria has ever been insulated by their people except here in Akwa Ibom
Instead of engaging in constructive dialogue and a well tailored criticism, some have chosen to propagate unfounded allegations and narratives that lack substance or context.

The discrepancy lies in the failure to acknowledge the nuanced dynamics at play and the selective highlighting of Senator Akpabio’s response without due consideration of the circumstances preceding it. The criticism directed at Akpabio from these journalists fails to acknowledge his justified reaction to what he perceived as a derogatory and hypocritical statement made by Governor Fubura, despite the occasion being a funeral service.
Furthermore, the reference to Governor Fubura’s past actions, including his contentious confrontations with the Rivers State House of Assembly, underscores the complexity of the political landscape in which these interactions occur. While Fubura’s actions have elicited both support and condemnation, the assessment of his conduct should encompass a comprehensive examination of the underlying motivations and contexts.
In conclusion, it is imperative for individuals to adopt a more discerning and objective approach to analyzing political events and engagements. Fostering genuine dialogue and integrity in discourse is paramount in fostering meaningful understanding and constructive engagement within the political sphere.
