Akwa Ibom State Women have condemned in strong terms the gruesome murder of Miss Iniubong Umoren by one Uduak Frank Akpan.
The Women during a solidarity protest today called for justice for the late job seeker.
The women led by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr. Ini Adiakpan marched from Ibom Plaza to Nwaniba road, down to Dominic Utuk Avenue and terminated at the Wellington Bassey Way globe.
At the globe, the wife of the state governor, Dr. Martha Emmanuel addressed the women and frowned against the act.
The Commissioner for women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr. Ini Adiakpan described the act and other gender based violence on women as barbaric.

Others who joined voices in condemning the act included the Deputy speaker, State House of Assembly, Princess Felicia Bassey, State Chairman of International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA, Barrister Emem Ette, State Chairman, Nigerian Association of women Journalists, NAWOJ, Comrade Uduak Ekong, Coordinator of Feyrep, Mrs. Ephraim Inyang and the State Chairman, Civil society Organisation, Mr. Harry Udoh among others.
The late Miss IniubongUmoren was murdered while attending a job interview.
