Murdered in cold blood and raped, the untold story of Iniubong Ephriam Umoren who on April 29 woke up in the morning thinking of what to do with the appointment she had for a job interview in Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

Untold Story of Iniubong
Iniubong spoke with her friend Uduak Umo who told her [Iniubong] that she has a job and was to begin in a few days in Lagos but She had told Iniubong if the distance was far she could stop going for the interview.
After their discussion, the friend, Uduak Umo offered to give Iniubong two thousand Naira transport fare to enable her pay her way the venue of interview in Uruan local government.
On receipt of the money, she proceeded to the place she had the appointment and later informed her friend she was at the venue of the interview
Things changed, it was not what she expected and confronting challenges, she opened her phone for people to hear what was going on.
Iniubong was able to send a voice chat which Uduak Umo said she immediately opened and heard iniubong screaming.
The friend for sometime could not hear from Iniobong again after repeated calls It was the time late Iniubong encountered her ordeal with the suspected kidnapper, rapist and a murderer. Uduak Frank Akpan.
Uduak Umo according information she gave reporters put a call to people Uyo who knew the sister of Iniubong in a bid to raise an alarm for Iniubong to be rescued.
The murderer to information deactivated his face book page and told those who asked after Iniubong that he had also tried getting on phone and that Iniubong’s phone number was off but asked people to reach out to the family.
With reports, it is not the first time the suspect, Uduak Akpan is involving himself in such an act. A girl named Maria told her friend, Uduak Umo that the same man who murdered Iniobong tried it on her.
She was drugged, given Indian hemp to smoke rapped and they took pictures of her threatening to make the pictures go viral is she dare tells anyone.
Iniubong’s friend took the address from Maria and gave to Iniubong’s sister who alerted the Police.
The police then arrested the father of Uduak from the said address given.
Again, from reports making the rounds in some quarters as to who arrested the culprit, Iniubong’s friend said after the arrest of the culprits father, the culprit took himself to the police, Uduak Akpan is cooling down in the police net and perhaps giveing vital information to the police.
Iniubong who was to leave for National Youth Service Corps in 2019 did not because of the outbreak of COVID–19 and decided to look for a job.
With Uduak Umo’s information, the deceased was not in any relationship, she does not keep late night except on the day she had her birthday with her friends and school mates.
The situation is saddened that the Akwa Ibom state government has strongly condemned what Uduak Akpan did.
The government is seeking justice for the deceased.
The Akwa Ibom State police command also said that it has arrested the suspect, a twenty year old Uduak Frank Akpan.
According to the Police bulletin, it said it got information on the disappearance of Iniubong Umoren on May two, 2021.
A Police source, Mr. Odioko Macdon said in the bulletin that a team of Anti Kidnapping Squad made the arrest.
The Civil Liberty organization in Akwa Ibom state said in a statement that it is saddened by the incident and called for police through investigation.
The Nigerian National Assembly wants the case transfered to the Force headquarters in Abuja
Iniubong Umoren according to information was not up to twenty six years old before her death and was a graduate of the University of Uyo, Department of Philosophy as well as an indigene of Oruk Anam Local Government Area.
Iniubong Umoren was raped and killed after being lured by her killer with a lucrative job.
Everyone is waiting for a full police report and investigation into the matter.
