With three victories and three draws in his first six games as head coach of Akwa United, Ayodeji Ayeni has stated that his team’s goal is to compete for all available points in every game in order to finish the season on a positive note .Coach Ayeni told newsmen in an exclusive interview ahead of match day 26 that the remaining 13 matches are critical and that his players will not take any chances.
On match day 21, Akwa United were held to a goalless draw at the Muhammadu Dikko stadium in Katsina by Kano Pillars, who utilized the facility as their adopted home ground” The league is heating up, and teams are doing everything they can to win points, whether they’re playing at home or away.”
“My first six games in command of Akwa United have taught me a lot about my players’ capabilities and strengths, and I’m certain that they can compete with any team in this league.”
The boys are putting in a lot of effort to be selected for matches, and with the twenty players selected for this vital encounter against Katsina United, I’m confident we can have a great result on Sunday.

Akwa United, the league champions, have two wins, five draws, and five losses in their twelve away games this season, putting them in fifth place in the log with 39 points from 25 games, scoring 27 goals and conceding 22.
On matchday 6, Akwa United defeated Katsina United 2-0 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, with goals from Charles Okafor and captain Ubong.
In the last eight meetings between the two teams, Akwa United has three wins to Katsina United’s two, with three of the matches ending in draws.
Both teams will be going into the game with high spirit after winning their last outings. Akwa United defeated Lobi Stars 1-0 in Uyo, while Katsina came from behind to beat Abia Warriors 2-1.
