His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse 111, the Olu of Warri, has pledged his administration’s readiness to collaborate and work with the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers.
The Olu made the claim while paying a courtesy call on His Majesty, Obi Dr. E.O Efeizomor 11 JP, OON, Obi of Owa and Chairman of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, at his palace in Owa Oyibu, Ika North East Local Government Area.
The Olu expressed satisfaction with Delta State Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa’s leadership style and stated that he would do everything possible to ensure that the administration finishes strong on its set agenda in the state.
The Warri Monarch, who was accompanied by a retinue of chiefs, stated that he was in the Owa Kingdom to express solidarity and support to Obi of Owa, and that the visit was also part of his official tour outside his kingdom since his coronation on August 21.
“Today marks our first official appearance outside the palace. We paid a visit to the state governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, as well as the Asagba of Asaba. We thought it would be a good opportunity to come to Owa and see you not only as of the governor’s father but also as the Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers.

“Let it be stated unequivocally that we support the traditional rulers and the council.” We are also pledging our support and prayers for the state government to ensure a successful conclusion. This is the path we’re taking.”
“The best is yet to come to Owa and the state,” the Olu says, adding that “we will do anything that is required of us to ensure Delta State is better for Deltans.” We look forward to returning to Owa when we won’t have to rush because we have a lot to talk about. I thank you for the warm welcome you gave me and my chiefs; despite the short notice, the people came out in large numbers to greet me, which I appreciate.”
In his response, the Obi of Owa urged the new Olu of Warri to be magnanimous in victory by accommodating everyone, while urging the people of Warri Kingdom to give the new Olu their full support for the Kingdom’s peace, progress, and development.
“Olu has taken steps in the right direction. We’re all pleased with him. When there is peace and tranquillity in the Warri Kingdom, we stand to gain more. When I see him (Olu) progress, I have more to gain. I wish him the best. I’m praying for him. I want the kingdom to keep moving forward.”
The Obi of Owa took advantage of the occasion to warn anyone who attempted to separate Delta State’s traditional institutions that they would be resisted.
“We will not be happy, and no one should support such a person because no one wants a crisis in his territory and to feel comfortable,” he said.
Olu’s arrival at the palace of Obi Emmanuel Efeizomor 11 was met with a marriage of itsekiri and Ika culture, as citizens demonstrated unity and strength in the midst of its cultural diversity.
Obi Efeizomor 11, the Itsekiri monarch, was received in a royal manner and led him to the palace hall, where the atmosphere was charged with eulogies for the monarchs.
The event included the presentation of gifts to Warri’s Olu. The visit was his first official function outside of his kingdom since his coronation on August 21.
