Members of the Finance and Appropriation Committee of the state House of Assembly have raised concern over the condition of Roads in the State.

The member representing Nsitubium state constituency drew attention of the works Commissioner to the Mbiekene Nungobong Road with the spur fearing the road could be abandoned as the contractor is not on site and the project not captured in the 2021 Budget.
On his part the member representing NsitAtai state Constituency Elder Mark Esset drew attention to the Idiaba Nda Nsit, Ikot Abasi Nungudoe Roads.
On his part the member representing Abak state Constituency wondered about the state of Ikot Ekaide, Ikot Ibritam and the Abak 10 miles to the main town which have not been captured in the Capital expenditure but the contract awarded.
While the member representing Ibiono Ibom state Constituency Mr Godwin Ekpo also drew attention to the Ikpanya Road in Ibiono Ibom
The Chairman Finance and Appropriation Mr Uduak odudo on his part said that no Road project has been allocated to Ikot Abasi state Constituency nor captured in the Estimate and solicited Ministry to among other things give his Constituents a share of democratic dividends.
In his submission the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof. Eno Ibanga lauded the members for the passion assuring that all the Road projects would be completed and all the critical roads earmarked would be touched.
He said that the Airport expansion project is currently ongoing while other roads are provided for under the direct labor interventions
The works Commissioner said that all Engineering staff have been mobilized to project sites for effective monitoring and contracts have been directed to return to site in view of the dry season.
Prof Ibanga lauded the committee from the scrutiny of the Budget and called on members to draw attention to lapses for augmentation.
