As the countdown to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship primaries begins, stakeholders of the party in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area have adopted Pastor Umo Eno as their sole candidate.
The stakeholders made the resolution while playing host to Pastor Umo Eno’s consultation team at the residence of a former Governor of the State, late Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga in Ikot Nya, Nsit Ibom LGA.
Welcoming the team to the area, the Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Eric Akpan said the aspirant was an indigene of Nsit in Nsit Ubium, and, as such, the people cannot afford not to support one of their own, assuring that Nsit Ibom people are unanimous in their support for Pastor Eno.
He appealed to the aspirant to have Nsit Ibom in mind when he emerges Governor.
On his part, the Member representing Nsit Ibom State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Ifiok O. S. Udoh assured the aspirant of bloc votes from Nsit Ibom, adding that the people are determined to take their destiny in their hands by supporting Pastor Umo Eno to emerge as the next Governor of the State.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political and Legislative Affairs, Elder Amanam Nkanga thanked the team for not forgetting the late Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga by visiting the family to pay homage to his memory.
He stated that though the late political icon is gone, his lieutenants, supporters, and foot-soldiers are alive in Nsit Ibom and will do the same thing he would have done if he were alive. He vowed that they will work hard to ensure victory for the aspirant at the party primaries and general elections in 2023.

In her remarks, the widow of the late former Governor, Mrs. Funmi Idongesit Nkanga lauded the aspirant and his team for honoring the memory of her late husband and prayed God to bless him and grant him open doors.
Addressing the gathering, Pastor Eno said the visit was to pay tribute to the late Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga who he described as a selfless leader who sacrificed all within his comfort to ensure that Akwa Ibom emerged a peaceful and prosperous State. He also thanked the late leader’s wife for her demonstration of love and support for his aspiration.
The leading PDP aspirant also solicited the support of PDP delegates in Nsit Ibom to enable him to emerge as the party’s candidate in the forthcoming governorship primaries.
Earlier, the Director-General of Campaigns, Ambassador Assam Assam (SAN), and the National Chairman of the Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, while introducing the aspirant, took time to eulogize the late leader as a true patriot and equally solicited the people’s support for the aspirant.
