On Sunday, June 19, at an interdenominational praise and worship service hosted by Christian Youths in Action (CYIA) in Eket, Pastor Umo Eno presented the charge.

He emphasized that young people must participate in the electoral process and support a candidate that is not only ideas-driven but also a role model for them.

The choice of leaders was very important to the youngsters’ overall progress, according to Pastor Eno, a seasoned businessman who highlighted that it was time for the youths to take control of their futures.

“You need a mentor in addition to a governor, and you must get involved to find a governor who can guide you toward genuine self-actualization.

‘Get your PVCs ready since you’ll need them to support your preferred candidate when the time comes.”

He counseled the young people to abandon their beggarly ways and engage in respectable employment, saying that God would only bless their labors and not the scraps from others’ tables.

Pastor Eno thanked the group for the initiative and noted the importance of praise and worship in the lives of Christians since, in his opinion, God dwells in the praises of His people.

He urged the youths to adopt a new mindset and follow the example of the Biblical children of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what they should do at each moment.

Pastor Bolaji Ade Israel, the convener of CYIA, and Pastor Sunday Umanah each made separate speeches in which they emphasized that CYIA is a forum that aspires to mobilize Christian adolescents for meaningful political action.

They disclosed that the organization has structures in each of the state’s political wards and units and had put procedures in place to start ward-to-ward sensitization for the purpose of PVC registration and collection, which, according to him, will enable them to fully participate in the 2023 elections.

Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Eno, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, bishops, and other distinguished clergy members were also present.
