The United States of America has declared a new visa policy for citizens of Nigeria.
Statement from the U.S embassy in Nigeria says applicants for Nigerian tourist visas are now eligible for five years (60 months) of visas as opposed to the previous two years (24 months) under the visa system.
According to the statement, the new system will be in place starting on March 1st, 2023.
The American government responded to Nigeria’s recent decision to reciprocate on visas with the U.S.
The announcement came from the U. S. Embassy, which states that from the first of March 2023, for Nigerians who wish to temporarily enter the United States for business or tourism, the Mission will extend the visitor visa’s validity from 24 to 60 months.

The existing USD 160 visa application fee won’t go up because the visa’s validity will be extended.

New Visa Policy
The people in this category are those who are applying for a B1/B2, F, M, J (only for academic purposes), H, L, or C1/D (combined only) visa.
The following requirements must be met in order for them to be considered: the applicant must be physically present in Nigeria; the prior visa must have been issued there; it must be of the same classification as the one you are applying for now; it must have been a full-validity, multiple-entry visa; it must have expired or be set to expire within the next three months from the date of application; and the applicant must have valid passports that cover the entire period since receiving the prior visa.
