CAF Cup: Winning Rivers United Fc in Uyo was a Shock to Me- Coach Nasreddine Nabi

Young Africans Coach Nasreddine Nabi has said that winning Rivers United Fc in Uyo was a shock to him on Sunday in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup

The coach who was responding to questions from journalists at a post-match press briefing said considering Nigeria is a big football nation in Africa, he was not in Uyo to revenge the previous back-to-back loss to Rivers United but was in the Nest of Champions to play football.

Nabi said the win will not make his team look down on its opponent but will spur them to work harder to ensure another victory in Tanzania in the second leg of the competition.

On Friday before the match on Sunday, coach Nabi said that he was so excited playing in such a magnificent stadium like the Godswill International Stadium, the Nest of Champions noting that the pitch will make his players play better football

The two goals of the encounter came in the second half after Rivers United lost concentration as Congolese striker Fiston Mayele was a constant threat to the defense of Rivers United throughout 90 minutes of play

Their efforts paid off with Mayele scoring the first goal in the 74th minute and making it 0-2  in a counterattack

Rivers United technical adviser, Stanley, who said he lost the match due to the injury of key players and the hot weather could not explain what lack of communication in football is while attempting to answer questions from journalists at the post-match press briefing.

Eguma however expressed fear about how his team will be able to execute matches in the NPFL and the CAFCC in a short time
