Eberefiak Ememrges Nung Uyo Idoro Village Head Oku Clan

The village Head-elect of Nung Uyo Idoro, Oku Clan, Uyo Local Government Area, Chief Edem Okon Eberefiak has promised to lead with the fear Of God but solicited the cooperation of all the people of the area as this will usher in that human-centric administration the community has been yearning for as well as ginger socio-economic development that will have far-reaching impacts on the well-being of the people.

Chief Eberefiak made the promise during his presentation as the new village head of Nung Uyo Idoro in a well attended and highly celebrated occasion characterized by a magnificent display of love, affection and emotions held at the village council hall.

He described his emergence as an act of God to fulfill His purpose for the people of Nung Uyo Idoro; therefore, it will be his responsibility to uphold the traditional normsl, values, culture, integrity and sanctity of the land he has inherited from his forbears.

Chief Edem Okon Eberefiak who succeeded late Chief Edem William Akpan, vowed to always stand for the truth and peace of the community, “my reign will usher in an era of peace, tranquility, development and social-intercourse amongst the existing families and units in Nung Uyo Idoro, Oku Clan, because that will attract good things and progress to our community”. Chief Eberefiak said.

However, he was quick to warn the youths of the community to shun social vices and dangerous gangs that will pitch them against law enforcement agents, and by extension jeopardizing their future.

He declared that his administration will not entertain gossips, and of course, those destructive and divisive tendencies as he wants to reposition Nung Uyo Idoro for the future. Chief Eberefiak used the occasion to thank Pastor Umo Bassey Enough for his genuine passion and interest in community development, free and compulsory Education for Akwa Ibom youths; he charged young people and their parents to avail themselves of this golden opportunity as Education is the bed-rock of self liberation and secured future and society.

Presenting Chief Edem Okon Eberefiak to the people of Nung Uyo Idoro, Oku clan, the family head of Nung Ibok Ukoetok, Chief UbongAbasi Sunday Jackson disclosed that it is always a tradition for Nung Uyo Idoro to mandate Nung Akpan Ibanga Royal family to search, select and present to the entire village a candidate with sound moral values, unblemish character, and of sterling qualities for the village headship to the people to assess and adopt.

That, Chief Edem Okon Eberefiak was found wothy for this plump job; thus, he was returned as duly village head-elect of Nung Uyo Idoro community without any challenge

Family Heads and other Elders of the Nung Uyo Idoro paid glowing tributes on Chief Eden Okon Eberefiak and wished him his God protection, grace, favour and wisdom throughout his reign. The speakers were, Chief Brown Nse Brown, Nung Ese, Chief Sampson Micheal Akpan, Nung Uyiom, Akparawa Ukeme Willie Johnson, Youths President, Elder Edem Benson Akpan, Obonganwan (Mrs) Edem Benson, Obong Edet Jumbo, (Ekom Iman), Elder Ikponifono Sandy and others. The event was graced by cultural troops, security agents and others.
